Future Dental Centre offers SACM Coverage

Future Health Dental Centre offers SACM Coverage in Moonee Ponds

SACM At Future Dental Centre

The Saudi Arabian Cultural Mission (SACM) offers dental treatment coverage for eligible individuals at Future Dental Centre, with an annual limit of $5,000. (Please note that cosmetic procedures are not included in this coverage.)

To qualify, patients must first undergo an initial examination, which may include x-rays, to evaluate their dental health. Our experienced dentists will create a personalized treatment plan based on this assessment ready to be submitted to SACM for approval.

Once the treatment plan is approved, our dedicated team at Future Dental Centre will proceed with the necessary dental care. In most cases, eligible patients will not incur any out-of-pocket expenses, thanks to SACM’s comprehensive coverage.

We are proud to have a multicultural team of doctors at Future Dental Centre, many of whom speak Arabic, ensuring clear communication and a comfortable experience for our patients.

How To Claim SACM

Step 1: Book Initial Consult

The process begins by booking an initial consultation at Future Dental Centre. It is essential that the patient informs the clinic at the time of booking that they are a SACM-sponsored student. On the day of the appointment, the patient must bring their valid SACM student ID & Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) card. This ensures the clinic can correctly identify the patient’s eligibility and prepare for the SACM billing process.

Step 2: Dental Treatment Planning

During the consultation, one of our dentists will perform a comprehensive oral examination and may take diagnostic images such as X-rays if required. Following this assessment, the dentist will prepare a detailed treatment plan outlining the necessary procedures, urgency of treatment, and associated costs. The treatment plan will include Australian Dental Association (ADA) item numbers, which are required by SACM for pre-approval purposes.

Step 3: Submit Treatment Plan to SACM for Pre Approval

Once the treatment plan has been finalised, it must be submitted to the Saudi Arabian Cultural Mission’s Health Affairs Department for review & pre-approval. Some clinics handle this submission directly on behalf of the patient, while others may provide the documentation for the patient to submit themselves. It’s important to clarify this with the clinic. The submission should include the patient’s SACM ID, the treatment plan with ADA codes, and any supporting clinical notes or diagnostic images.

Step 4: Await SACM Authorisation

SACM will assess the treatment plan to determine which procedures are medically necessary and eligible for coverage. This review process may take anywhere from a few days to a couple of weeks, depending on the complexity of the case. SACM may approve the treatment fully or partially, or they may request additional information from the clinic before making a decision.

Step 5: Proceed with Approved Treatment

Once approval has been granted by SACM, the clinic will arrange appointments for the patient to undergo the approved treatments. In most cases, SACM is billed directly by our clinic, so the patient is not required to pay upfront, provided the procedures fall within SACM’s approved list. However, any treatments not covered—such as cosmetic procedures—must be paid for by the patient separately which our team will discuss with you.
